Sam was able to send my documents for me and no hassles at all!! They arrived in Ireland in a week, everything was so easily done and convenient. We have been using Sam's service for many years, shipping fragile paintings around the world and his service is absolutely exceptional! To aid the Australian bushfire relief we waived part of our fee from the sale of an artwork and to our surprise Sam waived his fee, which was a really wonderful gesture. DHL has PR people not in the least interested in helping a dissatisfied customer, my remonstrations, have just fallen on deaf ears. I have over the years, dealt with some badly servicing Companies, however DHL at this point must take the cake. I am so annoyed and indeed, disappointed, I can barely find the words to describe this nightmare.They claim that they cannot give a 'ball park' figure of possible Customs charges, yet in response to query, they merely say The recipient C.O D must pay 7,035 Pesos being due for declared value of AUD 499, roughly USD375,. There are no mentions of dangerous, awkward size nor shape of parcels, simply based on the declared value, which I honestly overestimated, lest I may dishonestly cheat Philippine Customs, all goods are many years, circa 2008 -2013 manufacture, or indeed older. DHL merely says that the receiver'may need to pay customs or duties'in order to take delivery of the goods' I would never have sent this 8.5kg package if I had known the thieving Philippines Customs would be charging AUD 205 duty. I am seething with anger in connection with these two Companies,involved. For whatitnis worth, be warned readers, that using 3rd party facilitator Companies means DHL will not deal with your complaint directly, but, according to them, the contract they have bden negotiated with 3rd parties means you must, as the client of the 3rd party Companies, soly deal with said 3rd party Company/.
