Mr Barry Smorgon
Chairman of the Board
Mr Smorgon was a Director and Executive of Smorgon Consolidated Industries, one of the largest private companies in Australia for over 20 years.
From 1996 to 2015 Mr Smorgon was the Executive Chairman of Jalco Group of Companies -one of Australia's largest contract manufacturing operations making a large range of products from personal care, industrial, cosmetic, plastic packing with customers such as Unilever, Alberto Culver, Avon and Colgate.
Mr Smorgon is also a Director of several private entities including being Chairman of Toll-Jalco Logistics. He has also been Chairman of Board of Governors of Maccabi Australia (one of the largest sporting organizations in Australia) and AIJAC NSW an Advocacy Group and spends a lot of his time on not for profit organisations.
In June 2010, Mr Smorgon received the Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday Honours for his service to the community and to business.
Mr John Tisdale
Managing Director and equity partner of Jalco Group Pty Ltd from 1987 to 2015 (www.jalco.com.au). The Jalco Group is one of Australia's largest and most diverse contract filling and manufacturing businesses. On joining Jalco in 1987, Mr. Tisdale implemented strategies that expanded the customer base and ensured that productivity and annual sales experienced remarkable growth.
Subsequent to the successful sale of the Jalco Group , John Tisdale remains managing Director of the retained entity, Tismor Holdings which is a therapeutic Goods accredited contract manufacturer employing approximately 130 people.
Mr Michael Paul
Chief Executive Officer
Michael Paul is the founder of Pack & Send Systems Pty Ltd and has been a Director and CEO of the company since its incorporation in February 1993. Under Mr Paul's guidance and leadership the company has developed a national service centre network throughout Australia which was recognised in 2007 as the 'Australian Franchisor of the Year' by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Franchise Council of Australia. In 2008, the company expanded its franchise retail Service Centre network to the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
Mr Paul has led the company to evolve and change in a rapidly growing market so that the brand lives up to its business mission of 'compete solutions for anything. anywhere'. Today, the company offers services through multiple sales channels that includes; a vast network of convenient Retail Service Centres, Logistics Fulfilment Centres, Call Centre, Online Courier Booking systems and Online Retail Integrations.
In 2009, Mr Paul was elected to the National Board of Directors of the Franchise Council of Australia - the peak body that represents the $144 billion franchise sector in Australia. In 2012 Michael was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of the Franchise Council of Australia and remained in that role until December 2014. Michael was reappointed as Chairman of the Franchise Council of Australia in September 2015.
Mr Rod Urbina
Chief Financial Officer
Rod Urbina joined PACK & SEND in 2012 and comes with over 21 years as a Chartered Accountant within the retail/wholesale and distribution sectors, bringing with him experience in both large multi-national foreign owned corporations as well as medium private businesses. Rod most recently worked for the Davcor Group, a privately owned security and hardware wholesaler, as the Chief Financial Officer, and was previously Group Financial Controller for companies including Optifashion Australia P/L (Just Spectacles Group), and Steinhoff Australia (previously Freedom Group Limited).
Mr Nicholas Woodward
Operations & Innovation Manager
Nicholas began employment with PACK & SEND in September 2005. Nicholas is responsible for business systems, eCommerce innovation and development, marketing, and operations.
Nicholas has a Degree in Business (Information Systems) from University of Western Sydney and a Diploma in Business (Franchising). Previously he worked for Coles.
Mr Damien Lisney
Human Resources Manager
Damien joined PACK & SEND in 2008. He is responsible for planning and managing a range of strategic and operational HR initiatives across the company, including learning and development, recruitment, performance management, policies and procedures.
Previously he had significant experience in learning and development, working for a software company, registered training organisation and as National Training Manager for The Travel Corporation.
Mr Eric Celik
National Field Support Manager
Eric began employment withPACK & SEND's Corporate Store Division in November 2008, overseeing the growth of company-owned flagship Service Centres. In May 2012, Eric was promoted to National Field Support Manager, assuming responsibility for the guidance and development of the company's franchised retail service centres. Eric has a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in Operations Management and sub-majoring in Information Systems from the University of Western Sydney.
Franchise Support Manager
Mike was previously a franchisee of PACK & SEND. Following the sale of his award winning franchise in 2013, Mike Smart joined the PACK & SEND head office as Franchise Support Manager, assisting franchisees to maximise the opportunities in their investment.
Preceding his time with PACK & SEND, Mike held managerial positions with companies including Fantastic Furniture and Mitre 10 and was Managing Director of Bedshed for 19 years where he was responsible for the management and development of the national bedding franchise chain of 35 stores with a retail turnover of around $70m.
Area Manager Corporate Stores
Jonathan joined PACK & SEND in 2010. He currently is responsible for PACK & SEND's Corporate Stores Division, where he is responsible for store sales growth and profitability as well as sales training and staff development.
Mr Richard King
National Product Development Manager
Richard joined PACK & SEND in 2012. He is responsible for supplier negotiations and reviewing and improving PACK & SEND's suite of services to resell to its customers.
Richard had extensive experience in retail management for networks such as Homeart, Paradise Retail Holdings (Pets Paradise), and EzyDVD. Richard holds a BA and an MA from the University of Sydney.
Ms Lissa Becker
Lissa joined PACK & SEND in 2009 as a franchisee for the brand's Pyrmont retail service centre, following her time as National Marketing Manager with Gloria Jean's Coffees.
During the four years she and husband Mike Smart operated their service centre, they were awarded the PACK & SEND Franchisee of the Year award in 2011, runner up in 2012, and entered the FCA Franchise Success Club in 2012.
After selling their PACK & SEND business in June 2013, Lissa joined the brand's Company Owned Stores division, using her skills in retail, marketing, management, and franchising to coach the Store managers in improving sales and profitability of their brnaches. Lissa now takes on the role of Brand Manager where she is responsible for implementing best practice marketing systems to maximise franchisee performance and network revenue growth.
Mr Tim Robinson
Digital Communications Manager
Tim is responsible for driving PACK & SEND's digital presence, website and social media marketing. He has a Business Degree from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Mrs Susan Paul
Susan worked in the first PACK & SEND service centre that was established in 1993 and has been Director of the company since 1996. Susan has had various roles with PACK & SEND during its developmental period and is currently the Communications Co-ordinator. Susan holds an Associate Degree of Arts (Writing).
Mrs Michelle Clarke
E-commerce Finance Officer
Michelle joined PACK & SEND in 2000. Prior to PACK & SEND she had 17 years experience within the Banking industry, including 10 years with Chase Manhattan as a Senior Supervisor in Foreign Exchange Operations.
Clare has been with PACK & SEND since December 2013, providing assistance to the CFO as well as managing full accounts duties for company owned stores and head office accounts. Clare is also responsible for MYOB support and training of PACK & SEND franchisees. Clare previously worked in account support roles for companies including Bacto Laboratories and Investor First Securities.
Mr Stephen Krauklis
Technical Services Manager
Stephen joined PACK & SEND in July 2009, initially as Software Development Manager. He is now the Technical Services Manager, responsible for all PACK & SEND's information technology staff, including support specialists, programmers and analysts.
Stephen has over 20 years experience in I.T. solutions design and implementation. He holds a Masters degree in Systems Development and is a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer
